世界上最著名的詩句——世界上最遠的距離，對於此詩句的作者是誰很多不同的見解，大抵有兩個說法是業界比較認同的。

一個說法是出自著名的印度詩人泰戈爾的《飛鳥集》，但是《飛鳥集》中又並未又近似詩句的收錄，可能是有個版本的最後一句被譯爲“世界上最遙遠的距離是飛鳥與魚的距離”而被認爲是泰戈爾所創作，但是到現在都沒有一些客觀的證據證明泰戈爾有過類似詩句的創作。

另一個說法是出自張小嫺的小說《荷包裏的單人牀》，裏面的原句是：“世界上最遙遠的距離，不是生與死的距離，不是天各一方，而是，我就站在你的面前，你卻不知道我愛你”。

但是對“世界上最遠的距離”網友們也作出很多不同版本的創作。
